Why Etica?
We believe horses deserve better!
Etica Equine was founded to raise funds that can help facilitate independent scientific research, free from commercial pressures and industry agendas. Our sole purpose is to advance knowledge that benefits horses first.
With the creation of this Charitable trust and financially supporting transparent, independent research, we hope to contribute knowledge that supports healthier horses, more informed decision-making, and stronger relationships between horses and the people who care for them.

Charitable Trust
Objectives
(a) To inspire, promote, and support the welfare of horses through stewardship, independent research, education, advocacy, and practical assistance.
(b) To initiate and provide direct support for both new and ongoing horse welfare research projects.
(c) To promote transparency, accessibility, and integrity in horse welfare research and knowledge-sharing.
(d) To advance the education of the public about horse welfare, the horse–human relationship, and the work of the Trust.
(e) To raise awareness and foster understanding of the physical, mental and emotional well-being of horses.
(f) To collaborate with individuals, communities, and organizations whose purposes align with the betterment of the equestrian community.
Vision
OUR PASSION FOR CHANGE
We envision a world where the horse is truly heard and honored, and where attuned, respectful relationships between horses and humans foster mutual growth, understanding, and shared wellbeing.
We advocate for the horse by attentively listening to the language of its body with curiosity and respect — honoring its nature, intelligence and dignity and allowing its truth to guide us toward a more conscious and compassionate relationship between horse and human.

Etica Equine Charitable Trust is committed to operating openly, honestly, and responsibly. Transparency is fundamental to the Trust's charitable purposes and underpins public confidence in its governance, research activities, educational programmes, funding decisions, and stewardship of charitable resources. The Trust will strive to make relevant information accessible while respecting legal, ethical, privacy, and confidentiality obligations.

Conflict of Interest Poilicy
Etica Equine Charitable Trust is committed to maintaining independence, transparency, and integrity in all governance, funding, research, educational, and charitable activities.
All persons acting on behalf of the Trust are expected to place the welfare of horses and the charitable purposes of the Trust above personal, professional, commercial, political, or organisational interests.
Funding Acceptance Policy
Etica Equine Charitable Trust welcomes support from individuals and organisations who share a commitment to horse welfare, education, and independent research. The Trust will only accept funding that preserves its independence, protects the integrity of its research and educational activities, and maintains public confidence in its charitable purposes. No funding source shall influence the governance, research findings, or charitable direction of the Trust.
Research Ethics Policy
Etica Equine Charitable Trust is committed to ensuring that all research, educational activities, dissections, investigations, and knowledge-sharing initiatives are conducted ethically, independently, respectfully, and in a manner that advances horse welfare. The Trust believes that ethical research and transparent education are essential to improving the lives of horses and strengthening the horse–human relationship.
Research Funding and Grant Making Policy
Etica Equine Charitable Trust is committed to supporting independent, ethical, and impactful research that advances horse welfare. Funding decisions shall be made fairly, transparently, and independently, with the welfare of horses and the public benefit at the centre of every decision. The Trust seeks to encourage the generation, sharing, and practical application of knowledge that improves the lives of horses and strengthens the horse–human relationship.

Etica Equine Charitable Trust is committed to fostering a culture of integrity, professionalism, respect, independence, and accountability. Every person acting on behalf of the Trust shares responsibility for protecting its reputation, advancing its charitable purposes, and ensuring that horse welfare remains at the centre of all activities and decisions.
